How to Decorate Your Home For Fall

As the leaves begin to change color and the weather cools off, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to decorate your home for fall. This is one of the most exciting times of year, as you can get creative and really bring the outdoors inside your home. Here are some tips on how to decorate your home for fall from our interior designers.

Tidy up first

Start with a clean slate. Before you start decorating, take some time to declutter your home and get rid of any summertime decor that you won’t be using this season. This will help you start fresh and make sure that your fall decorations have a place to go. Plus, it’ll make your home feel more organized and put together.

Get a little green! (Or orange or red!)

Incorporate nature. One of the best things about fall is all of the beautiful colors that nature has to offer. You can incorporate these colors into your home by adding a few autumn themed accents, such as throw pillows, blankets, rugs, or even wall art.

Lighting matters

Bring in some warm lighting. As the days start to get shorter, it’s important to bring in some additional lighting so that your home doesn’t feel too dark and dreary. Try adding some lamps or candles around your living space to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Comfort first

Get cozy. Fall is all about getting cozy, so make sure you have plenty of blankets and pillows on hand! This is also a great time of year to add a few throw blankets to your sofa or chairs. Not only will they look great, but they’ll also come in handy when you’re snuggling up with a good book or movie on a chilly evening.

Set your table

Table settings matter. One of the best things about entertaining during the fall season is all of the great food that’s available—think roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, etc. So why not take advantage of this by setting a beautiful table for your next dinner party? Incorporate some autumnal elements into your tablescape, such as gourds, leaves, or even pumpkins! Not only will it impress your guests, but it’ll also get them excited for all of the delicious food that’s to come.

Personal touches

Add some personal touches. Last but not least, don’t forget to add some personal touches around your home! This could include anything from family photos tofall-themed scented candles. We suggest using Nest Candles as they look elegant and smell fantastic. We even carry them in our Brielle, New Jersey showroom. Whatever makes you happy and comfortable, make sure it’s incorporated into your fall decor. That way, you’ll truly feel at home when enjoying all that the season has to offer.
